Phil Bodette

Bass Guitar

Phil’s been playing bass for a heckofa long time. He refuses to say exactly how long, fearing it might give away his age aside from his boyishly good looks. Holding down the low end with a consistent steadiness, Phil drives the Yesmen to a solid rhythm – in pure bass fashion. Born and raised in the Detroit area, his bass playing style was influenced by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and the sweet pop sounds of Motown. Phil attributes his unique pop/rock bass sound to the likes of Stanley Clarke of Return to Forever, Clive Chapman of the Jeff Beck Group and Who bass player John Entwistle. In his spare time Phil likes to race fast cars, walk his 2 dogs and drink his favorite whisky, Crown Royal.

Bodette splits his time between his metro Detroit home and a condominium in Aruba and sits on the board of Verizon Wireless. He is also studying for his doctorate in veterinary medicine so he can travel to Africa to help take care of poor, uneducated Zebras.
